How to Prepare For Advanced Placement Chemistry Classes
How to Prepare For Advanced Placement Chemistry ClassesIf you are a high school student in Irvine, CA and wish to improve your AP Calculus BC (Advanced Placement Chemistry) score, then you should consider learning from an Irvine private tutor. The accelerated method of learning through hands-on practice is a great way to ensure that you are equipped with the necessary skill set for college level courses. However, as a high school student, there are a few things that you need to take into consideration before agreeing to take private lessons from a private tutor.First, you should make sure that you are comfortable in the classroom setting. After all, you are going to be learning under the tutelage of a qualified instructor who has spent years honing his or her skills. Therefore, you need to feel confident about working with a tutor who has been teaching for years.Next, you should make sure that you are comfortable with the type of material that you will be learning from a private tuto r. For example, you should not have to learn advanced placement chemistry with a tutor who is an expert in Calculus. Therefore, you need to make sure that you feel confident about what material you will be studying. Plus, you should make sure that you are comfortable in your own comfort zone, so you do not have to fear the unknown.Third, you should make sure that you can take and pass a test that requires you to learn advanced Calculus. There are certain tests that require you to study at a specific pace, so you should make sure that you can meet the expectations of your tutor. A good Irvine private tutor will ensure that you will not find yourself running up against a deadline at the last minute.Lastly, you should make sure that you are provided with extra help in order to help you if you feel that you are stuck in a difficult section. Private tutors are skilled at providing their students with extra help in difficult areas so that they can focus on the section that they feel they are prepared for. This is crucial for those high school students who have spent a large portion of their school years trying to figure out how to answer a difficult question or how to grasp a difficult concept.Advanced Placement Chemistry is an important course for your high school education, but it can be overwhelming. With the rapid pace of society, it is common for a student to be behind in concepts that they need to know in order to be successful in college. By taking courses in calculus, physics, and chemistry, a student will gain a head start on their education and be ready for college at the same time.Advanced Placement Chemistry is one of the easier courses to tackle, and it does not require the student to have a high GPA. It is considered a supplemental course, which means that the student is expected to be prepared to take it in lieu of other courses. You can still gain admission to the college of your choice, but you need to make sure that you are ready to take a course l ike this.Advanced Placement Chemistry is a challenging course, but it does not have to prove to be a difficult course for students. The easy and fast approach to learning this course does not apply to Irvine private tutors. All of the hands-on experience that you receive as a student of this course comes with a variety of online activities that you can enjoy. As a result, you can benefit from the process of taking this course and not worry about taking it too quickly.

PETA Attacks Pokmon Over Animal Abuse
PETA Attacks Pokmon Over Animal Abuse Photo by lydia_shiningbrightly on Flickr.com PETAâs virtual picketing line simulates an alternate Pokémon universe, where users play as an escaped Pikachu who fights trainers in order to free other Pokémon. But why is PETA narrowing in on the seemingly innocuous childrenâs game? According to PETAs official statement, the game, which typically has gamers fighting and capturing various Pokémon, is actually a form of abuse. Players must hurt the creatures in order to capture them and when confronted by other trainers, are forced to âkillâ them in order to progress in the game. However, as others have speculated, the obvious problem with claiming Pokémon showcases a form of animal abuse is that the game is digital and the pixilated subjects PETA is trying to protect exist outside of reality. Much like animals in the real world, Pokémon are treated as unfeeling objects and used for such things as human entertainment and as subjects in experiments,â PETA said in a formal response on its website. The statement continues, The way that Pokémon are stuffed into Pokéballs is similar to how circuses chain elephants inside railroad cars and let them out only to perform confusing and often painful tricks that were taught using sharp steel-tipped bullhooks and electric shock prods.â For an organization devoted to the humane treatment of animals, PETA has become notorious for its shocking and often ludicrous tactics to generate awareness. In fact, this isnât the first time a PETA campaign has been centered on the treatment of fictional animals. The group has also targeted World of Warcraft, the popular online role-playing game, for an aspect of gameplay involving clubbing animated seals. Avid gamer Alejandro Martin, 24, of Fairfax, Va., finds fault in PETA for attacking games with fictional abuse, saying, âIts almost sad that they get so passionate because it blinds them of the fact that they are ruining it for their own cause. Ultimately their message is lost in the irrationality of it all.â âThe fact that they spend the time to criticize animated animal abuse means that they believe itâs on the same level as actual animal abuse,â Cecelia Kampsen, a sophomore at the University of Maryland added. âTo insinuate that is absolutely ridiculous and PETA should use its resources for campaigns created to protect animals that truly exist.â Yet even outside of cyberspace, PETA still loves to generate as much publicity as possible while imparting its message. PETAâs most notable campaign comes from anti-fur advertisements, which feature celebrities in the nude with the tagline âIâd rather go naked than wear fur.â Even as recently as Oct. 11, PETA released a racy ad with Jersey Shore star âThe Situationâ that read âToo Much Pu**y Can Be A Bad Thing,â to promote its neuter or spray your pet movement. Unfortunately for PETA, some people, like University of Maryland junior George Struder, note that the groupâs latest gimmicks used to promote the ethical treatment of animals is having an adverse effect on the actual issue at hand. âPETAs use of parody isnt so much overboard as it is ignorant,â Struder said. âTheir retaliation is promoting violence in a format that is easily accessible to children and, quite frankly, it makes them seem hypocritical at best. Their methods only works to undermine their values and defame their organization.â

What Is Chemistry Is A Must Read For High School Students
What Is Chemistry Is A Must Read For High School StudentsWhat Is Chemistry is a book that does more than just teach chemistry. It teaches the basics of how the five basic elements work and what they do. It also teaches how to use elements like aluminum, oxygen, potassium, magnesium, sodium, calcium, manganese, iron, copper, lead, sulfur, bromine, and chlorine to manufacture new compounds. As a result, it is used to help students learn more about the nature of chemical reactions and also how to use them to make things like plastics, fuels, and chemicals. What Is Chemistry also helps in the development of future engineers. Because the chemical elements can be made into various types of devices, a person who decides to study engineering needs to understand how to operate the device that will be made with the elements. By having a fundamental understanding of what a device uses when it works will help him or her to apply their knowledge in a way that will advance their careers. What Is Che mistry is very popular among both high school and college students. It has been an invaluable teaching tool for those students who have been lacking in the fundamentals of the subject. With so many opportunities available in the world today, there is no reason why anyone who has studied chemistry as part of their high school curriculum should not take what Us Chemistry. What Is Chemistry was written by Dr. Benjamin Pope. The story revolves around a father, a son, and a daughter who become involved in the question of what science is. What makes the book unique is the fact that the reader learns a lot of information about the elements and the things that they can be used for.The lesson plan in What Is Chemistry is very simple. There are several lessons that cover each element and how it can be used to create a variety of chemical compounds. For example, there is a lesson that covers bromine and chlorine and teaches the student how to combine them together to create a liquid or gas.The lesson plans in What Is Chemistry are very easy to follow. There are pictures to help guide the student through what it is that they are learning and there are timelines to follow to help give the information on how a device can be created. What Is Chemistry has proven to be an invaluable educational tool. Not only can it provide important information, but it can also be used to help students who have had difficulty learning about chemical reactions because they have had difficulties with the fundamentals of chemistry.
Assessing ROI Of A College Degree
Assessing ROI Of A College Degree In terms of bang for your buck public colleges may have a better return on investment that previously thought. An article in the Washington Post cited an article from SmartMoney magazine, which measured the value of colleges by their graduates salaries in proportion to the tuition they paid as students. However, this is only a value metric, and SmartMoney magazine admitted that its scale is far from perfect. Its analysis does not take financial aid into consideration. Some colleges post high tuition prices but offer huge scholarships to nearly every student. Its a marketing ploy. Many Ivy League schools fall into that category, as they give out enough financial aid/scholarships to most of their students, which end up reducing the net price by half or more. But, the report still offers some general but valuable information. The report measures a colleges graduates salaries at two points: one when they just graduate and another at mid-career. It then forms an estimated, averaged salary. Dartmouth graduates have the highest salaries of all other grads with mid-career earnings at $123,000. Dartmouth, an Ivy League school, has a rich history of producing high-earning graduates. It ranks 21st on SmartMoneys list of most valuable colleges, which is about the highest ranking for any private university. Carnegie-Mellon graduates earn the most right after graduation with $62,400, but the university ranks 23rd on the list of overall value, which is still fairly high for a private college. Sarah Lawrence College has the highest tuition and living expenses in the nation at $148,570. But, that number does not reflect student aid, and Sarah Lawrence College gives out a tremendous amount of student aid. The colleges grads earn a lot of money, and the school ranks at 50 on the overall value list. The value metric does not consider specific schools within colleges. It only accounts for overall earning figures of all graduates. For example, Purdue, which ranks 7th on the list is a huge engineering school. Engineering is one of the highest-paying fields, and that likely tips the scale in Purdues favor. Again, this list is not completely accurate, and its authors even admit that. This is a good resource to students, but it should not be the only factor in selecting a college. Here are the top 10 most valuable schools, private and public, according to SmartMoney Magazine. Private Colleges Princeton Dartmouth Harvard Carnegie-Mellon Bucknell University of Pennsylvania Colgate University of Richmond Cornell Yale Public Colleges Georgia Tech UT Austin University of Florida University of Georgia University of Illinois Clemson University Purdue University Colorado School of Mines Miami University (Ohio) UC Berkeley
Why Students Are Being Rewarded For AP Tests
Why Students Are Being Rewarded For AP Tests Do well on an Advanced Placement exam, and receive $100. Thats exactly what South High Community School in New York does for its students, according to an article in the New York Times. Teachers whose students do well also receive bonuses. The National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) funds the incentives at South High Community School and all the other schools that participate in this program. It pays each student who scores a 3 or above (high enough to earn college credit) on the math or science A.P. exam $100. Teachers incentives are not as straightforward and are based on the percentage of their students that pass the exam. More than half of the 1,853 teachers who participated in this initiative last year earned bonuses of at least $2,000. The largest reward was $12,500. The national program is still growing, and its goal is to increase the number of A.P. exams being taken. In just over three years, this initiative increased exams to 38,000 annually. Roughly 308 schools in six states are participating by rewarding their students and teachers with monetary benefits. However, there has been a lot of debate about whether this program actually improves students and teachers motivation. Rewarding people with exterior motives like cash can diminish intrinsic motivation. In this case, students only want to do well on the test so they can get that $100, not because it is truly important to them. Roland G. Fryer, a Harvard economist, who won a MacArthur Foundation award for his research on educational incentives, said that a cash incentive cannot consistently increase students performance. Under this initiative, students can be motivated to perform better on the A.P. exam; however, that motivation will not translate to the classroom or other tests. This takes the intrinsic motivation away from students. However, Fryer did say that combining payments with tutoring, teacher training and other tactics could be promising and provide more consistent motivation. The College Board, the administrator of the A.P. program, endorses the math and science initiative that rewards students and teachers performance with cash benefits. Some academics, however, are expressing concerns that the A.P. program is getting too large. They say too many unprepared students are taking and failing the A.P. classes/exams. They argue that this program is only making that problem worse. At most schools, students have to test into A.P. classes; however, the standards are becoming more lax. Some schools do not have entrance tests, and students only have to sign up. But, others claim that more students are now passing the exam and getting a head start on college, which could decrease dropout rates and improve students success in college. They argue that students should always be persuaded to take the hardest classes, even if that means failing. This will, at the very least, prepare students for college-level classes.
5 Best Bass Guitar Brands on a Budget
5 Best Bass Guitar Brands on a Budget Suzy S. In the market for a bass guitar? Here, Orange, CA teacher Miller W. explores the best bass guitar brands to consider if youre on a budget This list of the best bass guitar brands will give you a good frame of reference for finding a quality instrument while on a budget. While not always the cheapest options available, these basses are built to a reliably high standard for the price and can always be found for at least under $1000, if not much less. 1) Squier by Fender (Range: $279.99-$379.99) Squier has really upped the ante on their bass offerings in the last five years or so. The Vintage Modified (VM) and Classic Vibe (CV) series are very well-built instruments and sound great for the price. Most models come equipped with Duncan Designed Pickups. The Affinity series is cheaper but of noticeably lower quality. The VM and CV Series offer all the classic tones in the Jazz and Precisions basses (in four- and five-string models), as well as less common sounds from the Fretless Jazz bass, the Telecaster bass, and the newly revived Bass VI. Recommendation: Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 2) MTD Kingston (Range: $499-$819) The Kingston Brand is the mass-produced branch of MTD USA, a high-end bass custom shop run by Michael Tobias. Kingston basses are designed to be as close to the handmade standard at the best price point. The three models that make up the Kingston line are the CRB (with one P-type pickup, starts at $499), the Saratoga (with two J-type pickups, starts at $529), and the Artist (with one MM-type pickup, $689). The pickups and build quality are astonishingly high quality for the price, and the asymmetrical neck construction allows for incredibly fast shifting up and down the neck. The Artist is the only active model, and it includes a very versatile three-band EQ. Recommendation: MTD Kingston Saratoga 3) GL Tribute (Range: $449-$749) GL was the last company Leo Fender started before his death, consequently the models offered by GL and their more budget-friendly brand Tribute are the natural evolution of the Fender Models. The Tribute Line has more individual models, all of which are very well built and contain almost any combination of J pickups, P pickups, and Humbuckers. The L2000 ($699), arguably their flagship model, is one of the most versatile instruments available, as its two Humbucker pickups are augmented by a three-way pickup selector, a series/parallel switch, and a switchable three-mode preamp which controls volume, bass, and treble. Recommendation: GL Tribute L2000 or L2500 4) Spector Legend (Range: $499-$849) The Spector Legend Series offers slightly less in the way of variety, but that is made up for in the quality of construction. The Legend Series contains the Standard line, which comes in four- and five-string versions, as well as the Classic Line, which is available with four, five, or six strings. All of these basses are equipped with two SSD Humbuckers, with the exception of the Standard Four String model, which has an EMG P/J pickup set. Spector is also known for its beautiful paintjobs and exotic wood tops, both of which are options when purchasing a Legend. These basses are incredibly durable. Dan Briggs, of Between the Buried and Me fame, played the same Spector Legend Five String he bought when he was 16 until just a few years ago, which is a true testament to the longevity of these basses. Recommendation: Spector Legend Classic 5. 5) Ibanez (Range: aprox. $300-$900) This is where things get a little tricky. Ibanez makes a huge range of basses, from the lowest of the low to highest of the high, more or less. The trick is finding that range in the middle that is high quality but doesnât break the bank. Iâve found the best bang for your buck range is minimum $300 anything below that is pretty shoddy workmanship and somewhere around $900 at the top. The Soundgear series is always a safe bet; they are pretty much all equipped with two Humbuckers and a 3-Band onboard EQ, which gives them a serious leg up in versatility, although not to the same extent as the GL Tribute L2000. Ibanez also offers the Artcore series, which consists of shortscale hollowbody basses with a very classic vibe. Artcore basses are some of the only Passive Ibanez basses and generally come with two more subtly voiced pickups, while their Active counterparts generally lend themselves to a more Hi-Fi tone that cuts through the mix. Recommendation: Ibanez AGB200 (Artcore) or SR505 (Soundgear) These are some of the best bass guitar brands out there, all with prices that wont completely break the bank. Good luck finding the bass for you! Miller W. teaches acoustic guitar, bass guitar, music theory and upright bass in Orange, CA.
